Over The Garden Wall: The Unknown

So, I've been gone for a while. But, I'm back and I have an awesome theory. Warning, this theory contains spoilers for the Cartoon Network show, Over the Garden Wall.

I've noticed a popular theory going around about the Unkown from Over the Garden Wall. The theory is that the Unknown is the afterlife, or purgatory. But I disagree. I believe that the Unknown is a place for those who have unfinished buisness, whether they know it or not. The people who end up there may not be required to be dead. If they don't know there is a problem, or do not intend to change things, they get sent to the Unknown, or if they die and therefore can't solve the problem.

Sure Quincy Endicott might be dead, but he, according to my theory, is there because he died while secretly having a crush on his buisness competitor. She also had a crush on him and so she was also sent to the Unknown. The two finally end up together after the two thought they were seeing attractive ghosts.

Wirt and Greg are there for different reasons. Wirt is there because he feels guilty about blaming Greg for everything. Greg is there because he stole the rock fact rock. Also, they both are drowning and just want to go home.

Beatrice is there because she threw a rock at a bluebird, causing the bird to turn her whole family into bluebirds. She won't go home till she finds a solution. Her family is there because, one, they are bluebirds, and, two, they don't know where Beatrice is or what happened to her.

Lorna is there because she was possessed. Auntie Whispers is there because she wants to help Lorna, but can't figure out how. When Wirt and Greg help Lorna, her problem is solved. Auntie Whispers's problem is solved because Lorna is cured and still wants to stay with her.

Miss Langtree is there because the love of her life is missing, who is there because he couldn't afford to buy Miss Langtree a wedding ring. Miss Langtree's father is there because he can't afford to maintain a school his daughter runs. Wirt and Greg run a concert that gets the money for the school and Miss Langtree is reunited with her love, Jimmy Brown, at the concert.

The Woodsman is there because the Beast lured his daughter there in order to get the Woodsman to keep the lantern lit.

Finally, and this one is pretty out there, The Beast is there because he was cursed to have his soul contained in the lantern. He might have once been normal, but having to have his soul lit by other lost souls, edelwood trees, turned him into the creepy Beast he is now.

That is all I have, I know there are some holes in this theory, but that is where you can help.
